Now Hiring 2019 Garden Apprentices!

Since 2011, Good Cheer has offered apprenticeships at the intersection of farming and food access. These positions have been paramount in allowing us to grow and provide our community with the freshest, most nutrient-dense food possible.We are now accepting applications for our 2019 apprenticeship. If you are interested in pursuing a career in farming, community gardening or food access and, enjoy working with people, see the Apprenticeship page to download the position description and for information on how to apply.In exchange for and average 35 hours of work per week, we provide housing, food from the food bank and gardens, and $400 monthly stipend.

Our apprenticeship program is part of the Washington State Farm Internship Project. This was the first program in the nation to formalize the unregulated position that many farms were already using to meet labor needs while training aspiring farmers. Through the projects, our apprentices are covered by worker's compensation and receive education that meets specific standards.
