July bounty!
Summer fun and bountiful harvest! We grew radishes especially for the Maxwelton Fourth of July Parade and then distributed them in lieu of candy. It was fun to have folks along the side of the road shouting "Radishes! Radishes!"
It's been a marvelous spring and summer, and the sunshine just keeps on coming on, with the warm weather crops loving it!
Carrots and beets are so popular at the Food Bank.
It's the height of the growing season! Come join us at our work parties on Wednesdays, from 9 am - 4 pm, to help with harvest and planting. Picnic lunch at noon. We provide the soup, salad and bread! Come for as long or short as you can. Families and children welcome! If you can't make it on Wednesdays, Lissa needs help in the Food Bank to put up the harvest for the winter.
