How To Help:

Donate Items To Our Thrift Stores

Good Cheer turns old furniture, clothes, appliances and knick-knacks into food for hungry families and individuals on South Whidbey.

Call 221-6454 for pick-up of large furniture and appliances. Or drop off items at: 2812 in Bayview, just north of Bayview Corner. The donation drop-off center is open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Good Cheer's thrift store item donation drop-off center on Grimm Road in Bayview is open to receive your used, (but still usable and saleable) clothing, housewares, small appliances, furniture, sporting equipment, and tools. Our volunteers will sort, prep and price them in our new Bayview facility and then move them to Good Cheer Thrift Stores in Langley and Clinton. Sales support Good Cheer and help feed people in need in our community.

Items in high demand include: housewares, linens, tools, books, men’s clothing, children’s clothing, antiques, jewelry, small appliances, and furniture.

When considering donating items to Good Cheer, please ask yourself,
“Is this something that I would buy?”
Are your donations: clean, complete, useable and saleable?

Please understand if we cannot take in all of your donations. Whatever we cannot sell must be taken to the landfill, and this actually costs Good Cheer money – quite a bit of money – which could be better spent to buy food for the Food Bank.

Please understand that we cannot accept the following items:
Baseboard heaters
Bowling balls
Computers
Console stereos and TVs
Copiers
Exercise equipment
Heavy drapery rods
Hide-A-Beds
Metal desks (over 4 ft. long)

Monitors
Printers
Skis
Ski Boots
Toilets
Waterbeds
Windows
Wire Hangers
Broken or rusty items, used pesticide rayers, stained matresses or bedding

Monetary Contributions

The 9 to 1 Ratio: S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g Your Food Bank Donations

Good Cheer is always happy to receive your food donations, and with our new points system, the food items you contribute offer greater choice to our clients.

You may also wish to make a tax-deductible monetary contribution because Good Cheer's ability to buy food at special regional food bank distribution sources such as Food Lifeline, means that every one dollar we spend at Food Lifeline purchases nine dollars worth of food.

If you are interested in helping to create a hunger-free community, please mail a check to Good Cheer at PO Box 144, Langley, WA 98260.
