Volunteer to Help Harvest:
Have Fun While Doing Good
Open a volunteer form for printing

Gleeful Gleaners of Good Cheer is looking for people who can help harvest fruit trees throughout South Whidbey, focusing on apple, Asian pear and pear trees again in 2011. We are especially in need of people who can fill these roles:
- Tree scouts who will be the inital contact person with tree owners, will assess the tree(s), fruit and terrain for suitability for harvest, and will let us know when a tree is ready for harvest. Scouts need to know enough about fruit trees to make these determinations.
- Point persons to pull together harvest teams from our list of volunteers once we have a tree ready
- Processors who are willing to turn apples into forms that will store long-term
- Processing coordinator who will pull together processors when we have a harvest
- Coordinator who will manage our database, receive information about trees that are ready for harvest, find a point person for each harvest from our list of volunteers, and assemble the information packet for the point person. This can all be done from home.
While most of the fruit will be donated to the Good Cheer Food Bank, tree owners and harvesters will share in the bounty.
Want to help? Please contact us by email or complete the volunteer form below.
